I just wanted to inform all of you of the reason behind the lack of posts here on our lovely little blog.

CHICKAMUNGUS and myself have been taking a bit of a break due to both of us working in retail, holiday season being one of the busiest for both of us, and both having extra on our plate as well: I have my artwork and newest job of working with Violetminded Design and Chicky working on her VO career.

Since we have been unable to produce regular posts (more so me than Chicky) and have been unable to do any kind of videos we have decided to take a break for the rest of this month as we work on switching our lovely space to wordpress (awesome new site incoming!), discuss a schedule for regular posting, and also setting up a regular schedule for video posts.

I hope that you will join us in the New Year with a new blog that we will be keeping you updated about throughout this month as we go into the New Year.

*cringe* Sorry, just having a moment of thought about sprinting and shooting a DMR on Beaver Creek.  Not many times you will see me jump on my high horse, but when it comes down to my beloved Halo, I get a tend to get a bit “Elite”.  

During the Gamestop Managers Show in August, I got a chance to sit down and play the remake of one of my favorite games of all time.  I can’t even start to find a word that would describe the glee in my heart.  Hmm…on a gigidy gigidy scale of 1 to 10, I was maxing out at 100 gigidies.  The map was Beaver Creek, but my Noble Six was given the loadout options of- WAIT, WHAT?!- a DMR?!  And Sprint.  My thoughts, “Please don’t tell me they are going to defile my favorite shooter with jet packs and armor lock!”  They already have.  

Yes, yes, I know what you’re about to say, “Duh, HCEA is just Halo Reach with HCE campaign and Halo 1 & 2 multiplayer maps!”.  I concur.  And I know that 343 Studios will say that they don’t want to make a simple remake and alienate the fans that started playing the series at Halo Reach, but in my opinion I’m the fan who is being alienated.  BUT, that’s why they created “Classic Mode”, for the fans like me, right? >.<.  I appreciate the story that they tried to tell with ODST, but I felt it was a rip off.  I hated Reach.  They took out my favorite weapon, the Battle Rifle, and replaced it with the DMR, which I felt was absolutely inferior.  Then they added jet packs and armor lock, and all kinds of nonsense.  Now I feel that HCEA, other than the campaign, will be a waste.  

I don’t want to buy an FPS just for the Campaign mode!

90% of the gamers who buy any shooter will keep the game based on how good the multiplayer is.   I weigh any game’s worth based on the amount of time I will get out of it- replayability.  If I buy a game for full price, and only play 6 hours of it, then it’s a waste of money.  Yet, if I purchase a game for full price and get months and years of enjoyment out of it, then it’s well worth it!  Unfortunately, since 343 is catering more to the gamers who never even played their groundbreaking original, instead of the gamers who made it such a success, I feel like I’ll be throwing my money away at yet another version of Halo that will disappoint.  I’m still holding my breath in hopes that I will enjoy the classic mode.  After all, I did get to use the pistol and get a 3-shot kill with it (that made me squee)!  But, I’d take a Battle Rifle any day if anyone from 343 Studios or Microsoft is listening to a hardcore Halo fan!

As excited as I ought to be for the release of Battlefield 3, I was quickly let down to see that I’d have to buy an extra EA pass to play the shared copy I bought during my Gamestop’s midnight release.  In six blissful gaming years of marriage, Mr Mungus and I have gone through a series of evolving “gaming rules”.  Our first rule, when we only had one Xbox hooked up to one modem was: “If we are both at home, we’d have to play a co-op game.”  Our second rule, when we upgraded to a router was: “You can’t have the Xbox AND the laptop at the same time”.  Once we had finally upgraded to having two Xboxs and two TVs, we were faced with dilemma of having to buy two copies of the same game.  Which, to me, was a dreaded waste of money.  Faced with this new dilemma, we forged a new “gaming rule”: “Before we buy two copies of the same game, first we must purchase one copy, try it out, and if we both enjoy it, then we buy the second copy.”

Which leads me to my disappointment with Battlefield 3.  After I popped in our shared copy of the game and downloaded the 1.5GB high res version, I was asked to put in my EA Pass code located inside the game’s case OR pay 800 MS points/$10 to purchase one.  To my surprise (being that this is my first time playing an EA game online other than BF1943) I had to pay EA to play multi-player after I had already paid Microsoft to play on Xbox Live.  Seriously? >.<

I understand that developers feel like they’re losing money from companies like Gamestop selling their games pre-owned.  But as less and LESS developers care to even include local split-screen co-op modes anymore, and I’m constantly faced with the dilemma of purchasing two copies of the same game just to enjoy gaming with my husband, I’m rightfully justified to feel downright cheated to have to pay EXTRA just to share a console game with my better half!  This will make me think twice before I buy another EA game.  $60 is already too much in my opinion, and this is coming from someone who’s been gaming for over 20 years.

Is this where console gaming is headed?  Is it really THAT hard to make games co-op friendly? Is there really no love for the married/cohabitating gamer anymore? 

Could Warner Bros. be anymore ridiculous? This really feels like they are trying to pull a Disney and put these movies into the vault for re-release later (which with Disney movies I do not mind because they have A LOT of classics and the re-releases have only gotten better). To pull the Harry Potter movies completely off shelves so soon is ridiculous. Yes I understand they want to REALLY boost those holiday sales but honestly I do not think this is a great move at all.

Bad form Warner Bros. Bad form.

So, I’m sitting here watching the first episode of the anime High School of the Dead (afterwards I’m going play Dead Island, then Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, while I patiently wait for the next episode of The Walking Dead this Sunday), and it got me to thinking…

If you got bit by a zombie, how would you like to “go out”?  I personally wouldn’t throw myself off the top of a building, or shoot myself in the head.  Too typical.  I also don’t think I’d want to be left to gnaw on my family members.  So in order to better serve my country in the case of a zombie outbreak, here lies my zombie will.

If I, Tunesha CHICKAMUNGUS Davis, get bit by a zombie, I hereby donate my body to science for a cure!

After all, I am an organ donor on my driver’s license.
